How to set the password for a user in linux Red hat

Hello friends today i m explain the user password and how we set .

Lets start friends

Its to easy .

1 we need a user which is created in red hat linux if you are not able to create user the read here
2 we are using the passwd command for this .
 syntax:- passwd <user name>


here passwd is the command and user name is the user name which one you want to set password .

for check the password is set or not check it in the file of the /etc.shadow. Our password is store in this file.

We are using vi or gedit,or cat commnd or editor for this
in my case we are use the vi editor
syntax :- vim /etc/shadow
